The Icelandverse was created to troll Mark Zuckerberg’s Metaverse announcement and remind people that a fake VR universe is nothing compared to Iceland’s actual wonders.

I pitched the idea the morning after Meta’s announcement, and we were shooting in Iceland six days later. The Icelandverse video went viral within hours, with over six million views. And even Zuckerberg unplugged himself from the Metaverse to post about it.
